A beautiful brilliant crimson colour, with a complexity of aromas on the nose including blackberry and Morello cherry, hints of oak and spice. Well-balanced, supple, round and succulent with lively, yet mellow tannins. Ideal for serving with red and white meats as well as cheeses. A perfect match for spicy dishes.
Owned by Charles de Montesquieu in the 18th century, Chateau Saint Ahon was destroyed during the French Revolution and then rebuilt under the 1st Empire. Restored in 1875 in the pure Louis XIII style, it remains unchanged today. It is one of the last remaining wine estates of Blanquefort, boasting 40 hectares in total, 30 of which are vineyards and situated only 25 minutes from the centre of Bordeaux.
