This Bordeaux Superieur is crafted exclusively from 100% Merlot grapes that are sourced from the esteemed Saint-Emilion appellation. It is a true embodiment of a luscious, fruit-forward wine with indulgent, and opulent flavours. With every sip, it beckons you into a world where the essence of Merlot grapes unfolds in a symphony of taste, delivering a delightful tapestry of fruity notes, sumptuous richness, and an indulgent depth that lingers on the palate, making it a truly remarkable wine experience.
In early 2022, Michel Bourel and Olivier Mermuys discovered the potential of Chateau de Roquemont. In the context of climate change and increasingly early summer droughts, the geographical location of Chateau de Roquemont, nestled below Saint-Emilion on sandy soils, allows for the cultivation of wines that better align with the evolving tastes of consumers. Both are attentive to customer feedback and aim to bring a fresh approach to Saint-Emilion with wine ranges that are more accessible in both flavour and budget.
So, in 2022, without wasting any time, the Vignobles Bourel restructured Chateau de Roquemont, a 9-hectare vineyard in Saint-Sulpice-de-Faleyrens, one of the eight communes that make up the Saint-Emilion appellation.
Chateau de Roquemont is now experiencing a revival! The chateau is located in the heart of the Saint-Emilion appellation, with a privileged view of the bell tower of the monolithic church of this medieval village, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Both in terms of the vineyard and infrastructure, everything is being done to make Chateau de Roquemont one of the leaders in the Bordeaux wine renaissance.
